In 1962, Michel Cartry was chosen by Balandier to carry out a mission in Haute-Volta (Burkina-Faso), in Gourmantché country, as part of an interdisciplinary research program on village soils (geography and ethnosociology) set up with the geographer Gilles Sautter.
En 1962, Michel Cartry fut choisi par Balandier pour effectuer une mission en Haute-Volta (Burkina-Faso), en pays Gourmantché, dans le cadre d'un programme de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les terroirs villageois (géographie et ethnosociologie) mis sur pied de concert avec le géographe Gilles Sautter.
